Dongfeng Honda's first pure electric smart factory in the world went into operation this year, with an initial capacity of 120,000 vehicles
Dongfeng Motor Corporation announced that it has entered the final phase of the world's first pure electric smart factory of Dongfeng Honda, located in Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone. The new plant is expected to open this year with an initial capacity of 120,000 vehicles.
The new plant will produce all new e:N series electric models. Prior to this, the assembly workshop was all through, and the first completed car was successfully off the line. The new workshop has a higher level of automation, and the welding workshop is handled by 230 intelligent robots, who can assemble a complete body in just 90 seconds.
A special new energy battery assembly area has been built in the final assembly workshop. After the battery pack is transferred to the assembly area by the AGV robot, the automatic loading transfer robot accurately locates the battery pack through visual recognition, and performs the predetermined grasping action, and then transmits the battery pack to the automatic tightening workstation, and is installed on the vehicle by the robot.
In addition, the new plant will also build photovoltaic power generation units and use automotive wastewater treatment technology to minimize emissions of air pollutants such as VOC.
Dongfeng Honda will put three pure electric products on the market this year: e:NS2, Lingxi L and SUV series. It is expected that by 2025, the proportion of Dongfeng Honda electric products will exceed 50%, by 2027 will no longer put fuel new cars, and plans to introduce more than 10 pure electric models in 2030.
